Description Description
Full of the classic charms of North Carolina's Crystal Coast, this adorable cottage brings breezy comfort to any Beaufort escape. This is a place to spend your days sipping coffee on the front porch swing, strolling downtown, and relaxing at sunset in the spacious and enclosed yard. This cottage boasts a fenced piece of property across the road from Taylor Creek, about three-quarters of a mile from historic downtown Beaufort. You'll be within walking distance of the Island Express Ferry Service, the North Carolina Maritime Museum, the Beaufort Historic Site, and a variety of shops and restaurants. Public beach access on Radio Island (less than four miles), Atlantic Beach (eight miles), and Fort Macon State Park (10 miles) are close by as well. Built in 1945, the house is bright and inviting, offering generous windows, hand-painted coastal-themed artwork, and thoughtful updates throughout. Highlights include a polished kitchen with stainless steel appliances, a formal dining room, and a living room where you can curl up with a good movie or a book from the shelves. After a day at the beach, come home to toss your swimsuits in the washer/dryer, unwind in central air conditioning, or linger outside on the porch with appetizers and cold drinks.

This two bedroom home with a full kitchen and dining room and family room was a perfect stay. The Saltbox shower products were amazing. The quiet zone of the location of the neighborhood brought such comfortable sleeping after beautiful days in Beaufort. We walked to the downtown area and across the water we saw wild horses on our walk! Beaufort is magical and we can’t wait to return. I would rent this home again and stay longer next time. This was a clean and comfortable home away from home. Don’t hesitate to book this gem! Thank you host for thinking of every little detail.

Cute little cottage. Clean property. Far enough from the main strip to avoid traffic and noise but close enough for an easy walk into town. Wife and I enjoyed they stay and hope to make a return for a nice weekend getaway.

Fantastic little beach cottage that worked well for our family of 5. AC worked well and the unit was clean. The day bed mattress was as hard as a rock, so if you plan on using all 3 beds in the 2nd bedroom, maybe bring a soft mattress pad or egg crate. My husband brought one from home when he joined us on our trip. There is also no storage for clothes in either room (just one tiny closet to hang clothes in.) Other than that, it was PERFECT. Would definitely rent here again and through Vacasa.

We loved so many things about this house. We loved that it's one of the last small cottages on Front St. We loved that we could walk to Mill Whistle. We loved the fenced yard with the rosemary and Carolina jessamine and the huge mulberry tree in the back (we made jam!). We loved the comfortable King bed in the master suite and the daybed/swing on the front porch. Things that will probably keep us from returning are the limited cooking equipment in the kitchen (if you're mostly eating out, this won't be an issue for you), the multiple times we got locked out of the house due to failure of the e-lock (no key, only key code, which is great, if it works), and the chairs/umbrella/grill tucked against the back of the house that really need to be replaced or disposed of. Considering all the other thoughtful design choices throughout the house, we were also a little disappointed that our big comfy bed had only institutional-quality sheets that didn't fit the mattress. All in all, a really good house, great even, but could be really special.

Thanks for sharing this detailed guest feedback — very useful. Following this review submission, management removed the broken/worn items from the back yard and disposed of them. Additionally, new pots, pans and extra cooking utensils were added to the kitchen to improve the ease with which guests could dine in.

Sea Grass Cottage met all our expectations and more! It is a lovely home in every way. from the art, the furnishings, the layout, and attention to detail. Also it is located close to downtown. We didn’t want to leave!

The house was as described. It was very clean and the bathrooms were nice. We did not cook but the kitchen appeared well stocked. We liked the completely fenced in yard for our dogs. We walk them frequently but being able to let them out for a quick potty break is nice. If we come back to Beaufort again we would definitely stay here.

Very nice rental! We had a great stay. Wished we would have had a toaster for breakfast bagels/toast and a DVD player for out two teens to watch movies in the evenings since we were there off season. All and all the home is wonderful. Great location and walkable to restaurants and shops. A nice fenced in yard for our little dog. We really enjoyed renting this home and enjoyed our stay.
